Both myself and Glen have been having a rough (Don't you just love Rough Writer wordplay?) time of it, getting back into the writing saddle this summer of 2010, and so he suggested on my blog that we try out a little NaNoWriMo of our own, to make us get back to work. So, starting today and progressing for the next 30 days, we'll be trying to write about 1,500 words a day, with the ultimate goal being 45,000 by the end of the thirty days (I forget the exact date...) Anybody is free to join, but I'd be surprised if anyone did, so this is primarily just me and him for the moment. I'm starting us off with the initial entry of a little over 1,600 (I'll get specific word counts by tomorrow's entry. So her we go! My daily total: 1,600 Edward Cheever II's Grand Total: 1,600 Glen Robinson's Grand Total: ? Woo!

Update Time! Okay, so I've figured out that yesterday's count was 1,645 words. Today, I've got 1775. The only caveat is that these words were written on a side project which I'm going to actually introduce in full elsewhere on the site. I still plan on writing on Jaine primarily, but what I wrote today was screaming to be written before I forgot it, and I think it turned out pretty swell. Besides, the next segment of writing in Jaine is a couple of dream sequences, and those are always difficult and harrowing to write. I'd rather keep my momentum going by writing on my other project than hitting a wall with those segments in Jaine. Besides, having finished early this afternoon for today's total, it gives me the chance to relax and daydream about how to work those dreams. So! My daily total: 1,775 Edward Cheever II's Grand Total: 3,420 Glen Robinson's Grand Total: 1540 + ? Woo!

Down day today for me. I have the first couple of chapters figured out but have been worried about where everything was going after that.
I will try to get a few words down tonight, but I am concentrating on some busy work around here to try to get my creative juices flowing.

Yikes! Well, I wish I had an update for yesterday, but I was busy visitingmy sister out of town for the day and ultimately had no time. Thankfully, today I've more than made up for lost time and managed 3,141 words! The parts I just wrote were fairly harrowing too, so I feel good about 'em. Edward Cheever II's Grand Total: 6,561 Glen Robinson's Grand Total: 4974 Woo!

Okay, after some recounting and scrounging up bits I had written in various places, not to mention the last minute inclusion of my blog posts (cause we're counting those, I suppose ) My current tally is: 11,072. That's my Story and I'm sticking to it!

OK, by my reckoning we should be at 12K by the end of today...so obviously I have a lot of ground to make up. Let's try to put the goal amount for that day every once in a while.
Also, point of order, Mr. Chairman. Are we counting everything we write during that time, or just stuff we write on a specific project? The original intent was to write a 50,000 word novel...that's the regular NaNo, of course.
Hoping to make up at least 3K today.

As of the end of 5-24, I have written 4506 words today for a total of 9480. I am still behind the 12K mark, but a lot closer than I was.
I will try to get back up to snuff tomorrow.
Oh, BTW, found a slight problem with my story, considering I moved from first person to third person....

Yeah, I agree that we should post mini-quota marks for every so many days. As for what we can include, I think it should be thus: Our Main Project (Crash Corrigan for you, Jaine for Me), any side projects that are actual goals for future completed works, and our blogs (because a blog is an important part of a functioning author's public face, and we need to learn to keep those up alongside our writing.) But no comments on other sites or forum posts or non-project work like an idea description, book notes, or book premises. Also no school or (other)work related stuff (I'm going to have to write a small essay soon on why I want to teach, so that I can apply for the Alt. Teaching Certification Program.) Today's final tally is as follows!: Edward Cheever II's Grand Total: 12,354 Glen Robinson's Grand Total: 9,480 Woo!

As of 10:30 this morning, I have another 2988 words, including the 512 words of a blog I wrote a few days ago. That brings me to 12, 468.
Total at the end of the day should be 15K, but I hope to get more words in this afternoon.
I am at a spot where I need to set Crash Corrigan aside for a while and work on Elijah, since I have no clue where Crash is going at present....

My tally for the days rests at a cool 2752, which just barely gets me back to where I should be. I'm afraid I mostly have my blog to thank for that which put in twice that of Jaine, but then Jaine has been hard going recently (I'm heading into less-well-charted waters, and it's slowing me down considerably. So by the days end we stand thusly: Edward Cheever II's Grand Total: 15,111 Glen Robinson's Grand Total: 14,387 Woo!
