I thought I would start a new thread for our July efforts.
For those who don't know, Edward and I are attempting to write 1,500 words a day for 30 days during the month of July. We've already done it once this summer, so this will be the second effort.
I am rereading my chapters from Elijah, so I can get up to speed. Then I will review the plotting and will start cranking it out.

Whew!!! I'm Back! O.o There will be a blog post coming out about my trip what done robbed me of my writing time this past week. Speaking of which, I've got 2,155 on the night. And so begins the largest Oh-Crap-I'm-Behind-The-Word-Count race of my writing career. I can still say that, this early in said career. I think I'll take such opportunities as I can take them. Also, I wasn't able to do any commentary during the trip, nor was I able to read any more of The Scourge of God. Still planning on doing both, and I want to be done with at least one of the two before the week is out. If I don't manage that I will slap meself. Everyone can feel free to live that punitive measure out vicariously, of course. Anyway. Bedtime. Night!

Glad to have you back. This rodeo was getting TOO quiet. I threw my back out yesterday, so I am stuck in a chair. For that reason, I should be able to get some good work done. Let's see, Day 8 means we should be at 12,000 words at end of day. I'm not even close....

Well, I forget what today's count was, but now that my blog's finished I'm officially up to 4,357 words total.
I guess I gotta keep chopping away if I'm to reach that 12,000, eh?

Wrote from 7 am to just after noon today. 5,768 words.
That takes me to 15,459.
Goal today was 13,500, but I won't be writing anything tomorrow, unless I write a blog.
I am at another point where I have to figure out what happens next, so it may be Monday before I add to it.
Good luck!

Ug. Only 1,780 today. I was... distracted. Friends I hadn't seen in a long while came over and threw my normal day out of whack.
Edward Cheever II's Grand Total: 10,314 Glen Robinson's Grand Total: 15,459+?
Anywho, tomorrow I post this monster blog I've got, and then I switch over to story telling once again.
I'm thinking of a new strategy for my blog. I might switch over to doing a daily blog, with each day focusing solely on one or two topics with the whole thing being somewhere between 500 to 1,000 words.
These massive blogs tire me out, they are hard to write and proof-read and it takes forever to look up images and upload them to Wordpress. If I limit myself to something small and manageable daily I might be able to cut back on the time sink and the stress, while forcing myself to write on my stories daily if I want to keep up a steady word count.
What do you think? -ELCII

Your idea about your blog is a good one.
My thinking is that it is more important to have a regular presence on your blogsite and have it shorter, than to have a long one once in a while.
I knew my weekend was going to be a problem for writing; for some reason, my wife wants my attention when she is not working. Imagine that.... Anyway, I was ready to hit it hard this morning, but ran into some school stuff. I have a Spirit magazine planning session at 11. After that, I will have a long list of articles for Spirit that need to be written--most of them by me. I can share them with you and you can pick and choose as you like.
Stay in touch. It's good to have a partner in this madness.
