My goals for this here first part of our Summer NaNoWriMo is to work on Jaine, and possibly even finish it. Should I actually manage to finish it in this first segment, I will use the next to write something completely different, and work on editing Jaine after it's had some time to breathe. That "something completely different," however, I have no idea what it will be.

I have three stories I'm choosing to work on. One is about dwarves from the kingdom of Gulvaria, the other is about a Princess Auriella from the kingdom of Lacyrria, or this other piece I'm working on that is based on the life of a pastor's daughter. The other is to do research on the military way of life for June, medieval research to help me get started with Lacyrria's culture, and perhaps write a mini research paper on them both. But I'll be happy as long as I'm writing something during this NaNoWriMo summer challenge. Who knows, I wouldn't be surprised if I do none of the above and end up writing about something totally different. Good luck to all!

I am out of classes and eager to get started once again on the last book of my Champion Trilogy. After that's done, I plan on writing some short stories.

Since we haven't stated it yet, let me do it here. The rules for the summer challenge are a bit different than NaNoWriMo. Whereas with NaNoWriMo is for a total of 50,000 words in 30 days and asks you to work on one project, a novel, we are a bit more lax.
Our goal is 1,500 words per day for 30 days. That results in 45,000 words (you are free to do more if you please). Also, the words can be on anything--articles, short stories, blogs, or a novel.
And keep in touch! A large part of the fun is when we keep others posted on how we are doing.

Okay! I may be laptop-less for a week or so, but I will be writing by hand on paper. I'll type and post what I've written by hand when I get my laptop back from the Apple store. My screen is being silly with me and messing up! Good luck to all! This will be fun!

Slow start. Read through my novels to get up to speed, and ran into a Writer's Roadblock. Trying to find inspiration....
in the meantime, I got 1,000 words written on my blog. So that's something at least.

Very, very slow start. I've been caught up in a novel, which I just now finished. I've read it before, but forgot how gripping it was. I stayed up till 3 a.m. reading it, did some right earlier today, and finished the almost 400-page novel.
I've written 1000 words today. Not much at all. Family is in the middle of the move now -- will be driving to Florida soon to sell two cars with my dad. Busy busy, but I will try to be faithful with my writing. Craziest summer yet.

I'm off to a slow start too, but since the word thingy also takes into account articles and blog posts, I should be fine (now that I'm working for the Burleson Star). I've written two blog posts and a couple of articles since Sunday, and I'll have to look up the word count. That said, my main focus is still meant to be "Jaine," and I hope to have my word count ready for posting this upcoming sunday!

Well, I finally got in a good day of writing. 2,100 words today. I got Chapter 19 done for Elijah, which is even better, since it was a hard chapter to write. I find that when you put a project aside for a length of time, you lose a lot of inertia in the writing process, and it's often hard to get that momentum going again.
I will be traveling from tomorrow until Monday, so I won't get back to writing until Monday or Tuesday. In the meantime, I have 4,491 words for the week.
Keep going, guys!!!

It's awfully quiet out there....how are you guys doing?
I am back from Nebraska and am dedicating today to work on my book. Not sure how many words I can get done, or even where I am supposed to be at this point, but I am going to give it the old college try.

I've written 8,000 words since returning from Nebraska. More importantly, I have only three chapters left to write!
Total so far: 12,491.

It's awfully quiet on my side because I haven't had time to write. My macbook was in the shop for eight days, the moving and packing of our home was crazy. The drive from Georgia to Las Vegas was a killer. And I have been having trouble with sleep -- partly due to my low immune system that keeps me up at night. I've written some measly 4,000 words so far. Quite a bummer.

I am cranking it out...slowly. I find that occasionally the writing comes easily. But too often it is an onerous and thankless task. Right now I feel like I am writing garbage. But at least I am writing words, sort of.
