As I told Kathy, I feel like the worst English major. I do not like Shakespeare, but it is only because I don't get him. Maybe if I understood what he was saying and got the jokes I would enjoy it more.

For me, seeing it on stage makes a world of difference. I can't really get into it (or for that matter, understand it) if I am just reading it in a book.
Gotta see the swordfights in tights.

Despite the change in eras I love Kenneth Branagh's version of Hamlet. And yes, seeing it on stage is a tremendous help.
