I liked it, but didn't love it.
As a writer, I felt the script (not the dialogue) was pretty terrible with horrible pacing and plot elements that suddenly pop up and disappear with no good connecting structure.
As a Nerd, I was torn between my disgust at what they did to some characters at some times, and giddy at what they did with others. Loved: Gambit (underused. poorly implemented at the end); Hugh Jackman's Wolverine (he's a great actor); Sabertooth (injected with some humanity, but still suitably vicious); Ryan Renolds as Wade Wilson is fun to watch at the beginning. Hated: Deadpool at the end; Underusing many characters; lack of fleshing out Wolverine's love life; Gambit's nerfed powers (they're not flashy-explosive enough).
oh, and the CG effects go back and forth from wonderful to horrible. Especially Wolverine's claws in the bathroom scene. Watch out for that piece of disgusting. Did they even try to render it?
The action was good, and the fights were generally well done (too much wire-work though), and I really did enjoy the dialogue and humor. The acting was good-to-great across the board as well.
Even though the ending was anti-climactic, the final fight had some good choreographic moments.
The script, plot, and the feeling that some studio execs were sticking their hands in the creative pot, keeps this from being a great movie.
I'd give it a 7.8 overall. Good, not Great.
Stick around till after the credits for a scene with Wolverine in Japan. (even though the scene doesn't do much)*crosses fingers for a sequel in Japan with the Silver Samurai & co.*

I, too, thought it was anticlimactic.
And I have heard that the next movie is already scheduled featuring Deadpool....
Good, but not great.

Not sure what they're going to do with deadpool in his own movie. I have a feeling they'll reboot the character and just conveniently ignore or retcon his appearance and story in Wolverine.
They probably won't use his iconic mask and suit (they won't want to cover Reynolds up). But i hear they'll keep Deadpool's tendency to break the fourth wall, which I can't recall ever really seeing in a movie before. It should be interesting. Deadpool in the comics cracks me up. If they can bring that spirit to the ensuing movie it might just be something special.
